About Patrick
My path dates back over five decades when I joined this human race here on Earth. Years of living as a part of a complex family with both fortune and challenge and then formal education where I earned the following; a Bachelors Degree in Psychology, then a Master of Science in Community Counseling provided a foundation for understanding life. In my professional development and career of twenty years I’ve earned a certification as a Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor II (CADCII), and most recently a license as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). In my professional development and career of twenty seven years and counting I’ve held certifications as a CADCII (Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor Level 2-not current), been trained in various subjects such as the Gottman Method (Relationship Counseling Model), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR-Level 1), and other disciplines. I have also held a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) license for several years.
After assisting people in the public sector helping them change their challenging lives for two decades, I’ve now been working exclusively in private practice since 2018 and continue helping individuals pursue growth and change.
Professional experiences have brought me to work with people dealing with many issues including;
- substance use and recovery/healthier living
- mental health/illness and recovery
- trauma (past/recent/present) and coping with trauma
- relationship challenges and resolution
- criminal justice involvement and completion
- family dynamics
- loss/grief and recovery
- and many others
Personal experiences have brought me to address all of these challenges including;
- divorce and life after
- loss of parent/grief and coping
- relocation and success in it
- step-parenting
- relationship challenges
- healthy habit formation (diet/exercise/etc)
- and various others
My life is of tremendous value to me and my intentional connection with my meaning is among my greater priorities in my daily life. A solid awareness of self and a willingness to honor my being is a central feature to who I am and perhaps an aspect that will allow me to be an appropriate counselor to help you being better in your life.
